"Went to The Mother Shipton Inn, and it’s an absolute gem. Really quiet, relaxed atmosphere, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
Food was spot on. The steak and ale pie was packed with meat and full of flavour. Fish and chips were a really big portion and cooked perfectly, the batter was lovely and crisp. The chocolate brownie for dessert was just perfect.
Service was brilliant. Michael and the team couldn’t do enough for us—really warm and friendly without being over the top.
Even if you don’t go for food, I’d recommend popping in for a drink. Hearing the chefs singing and laughing in the kitchen just made the whole place feel even more relaxed. Would definitely come back."

The food was 10/10- everything tasted fresh and really well cooked. It did take a little while to come out, but you can tell it’s because it was made fresh to order. We had the risotto and the lamb dishes, and both were absolutely amazing. The chefs killed it. The coffee is also good.
The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Big shoutout to Michael and a young lady who served us, both were kind and super attentive throughout.
The location is also beautiful, especially on a sunny day, such a great spot to sit and relax. Toilets were clean too, which is always a plus!
Would definitely come back again 😊

"Called ahead to ensure availability on Saturday night, was told to pop down and they will be space.
Fantastic welcome from who I can only imagine is the owner/manager due to his attention to detail and customer service that was fantastic throughout.
As a family that require dietary needs (gluten free), it was refreshing to see such an extensive offering.
Starter was fantastic for us both and brought out with kids meal as requested. Slight issue with main meal but rectified swiftly with apologies by person assumed as manager and server which I was happy with. Even offered a drink for the mishap which wasn’t asked for but certainly appreciated.
I recommend this lovely pub for a family meal, date night or meal with friends… you will certainly be taken care of. The food was fantastic with portions so big I couldnt finish! We are visitors to the area but so glad we found this gem after seeing reviews and taking a chance. Would visit again"

"Super lovely cozy pub, with the witch theme running throughout. The staff is lovely, the location incredible and the Sunday roast stunning.Dog friendly so the whole family can come which is always great, with treats and water here for them too. Will be back in next time we are in Knaresborough!"
